I have made an application to the members of www.pokerplasm.com and so far I have had an excellent response.

The tourney starts on September 23rd.

IT has been a long time since I posted anything here, as this is my main outlet for my moans and groans I am here again!

I was playing 5c/10c table last night and when I received pocket Jacks, I pushed $4 with it only to come up against Queens!

Then I had Queens and they were beaten by aces.

Now, this is the one that really hurt:

I was playing in a STT in 2nd position with 5 left and I had AhJd and bet 5xBB (now 25/50) to $450, this was seen by the player to my left (Big Stack) and the other players all fold. Jh, 5h, 7h hits the flop and I go all in, Big Stack sees my all in and shows 5, 7 (WTF) but theres a flush out for me, the turn is rubbish and the river is 7h, a moment of joy is destroyed by the realisation that he had hit his boat!

I chastised him for a moment "WTF, you saw a 5xBB bet preflop with 5, 7" no replie. "That was a real monkee call!"

I wished everyone good luck and left the game!

Sky - I HATE YOU SO MUCH RIGHT NOW!

Sky are introducing their High Definition (HD) broadcasting next week. This is a good thing.
If you want to receive the HD channels you will need to buy a new box (£299) and pay a £10 per month subscription plus a £60 instillation fee. This is not good.

I spoke to the HD customer services and was disgusted to hear that this new sevice will cost me £480 for the 1st year. I think the £60 instillation fee is waved if ordered before a certain date?

ME: "What happens if I decide that I no longer want to subscribe to sky?"
Sky: "Your subscription is for a year"
ME: "OK, in a year I decide to cancel my subscription, what happens then?"
Sky: "You would no longer be able to recieve the sky channels"
ME: "What about the box, would I still be able to use the facility of the box?"
Sky: "The Sky HD and the Sky+ facilities are subscriptions services and if you cancel your subscription these facilities will no longer be available"
ME: "What happens to the box?"
Sky: "You keep the box"
ME: "I am byoing the box to be able to watch HD TV, if I cancel my subscription to Sky then the box becomes a very expensive paperweight!"
Sky "Im not sure where you going, why would you want to canel your sky subscription?"
ME: "I bought a sky+ box and when I tried to cancel my subscription I was told that the Hard Disk facility I paid for would become useless, even though I can use the sky+ box to watch freeview channels, why cant I use the boxes facilities?"
Sky: "Thats because Sky+ is a subscription service"
ME: "Then why did I need to pay £200 for the box if the service is not available unless I pay you a further fee to use it, similar to having to pay for your steering wheel everytime you drive your car"
Sky: "I do not agree"
ME: "Wheather you agree or not the fact that I need to purchase a device then pay a subscription to use its facilities is extreamly unfair, I understand that the sky channels would be blocked if I cancelled my subscription but blocking the facilitie of the machine is totally mad, you even block my ability to watch pre recorde programmes!"
Sky: "Subscription to theses services is part of the contract"
ME: "Convince me I need to spend £500 for this new HD box then!"
Sky :"You have all the information, you need to make your mind up and call back if you decide to go ahead with this or not"
ME: "I think Ill wait untill Telewest bring their PVR system on line, thanks for your time"

Sky TV, are we getting a good service?

I will try and remain calm and collected about this subject.

I bought a sky+ system about 2 years ago and found the system to be a revolution. Briefly Sky+ allows you to record TV to a hard disk which allows you to pause and rewind live TV. It allows you to setup a series link which will record ever programme in a series, i.e. The Simpson’s or Battlestar Gallactica, which I would often miss if I didn’t have this facility (funny enough I tend to remember these programmes more now than before anyway!). Its a very convenient way of recording and watching your TV, no need to watch adverts anymore, just fast forward through them. No need to miss the programme you have been waiting for because the phone rings or you want a cup of tea or need the toilet. Its a brilliant system and I could go back to watching a standard TV for this reason. The fee for this facility is not free, it costs an additional £10 per month for the hard disk recording facility, if you subscribe to two or more premium channels then the Sky+ fee is waived (that’s very good of them).

HOWEVER
You would think that after paying £199 for the Sky+ system (which basically offers the hard disk recording over a normal satellite receiver) that if you no longer wished to subscribe to sky for their very expensive TV packages I would still be able to use the hard disk facility, after all why did I pay £199 for the equipment?

The answer is no. If you cancel your subscription to Sky then you also loose the hard disk recording facility! Yes, the hard disk recorder you bought will be locked by Sky if you stop your subscription to sky, Just imagine if you bought a TV and had to pay an additional £10 per month so you could use the AV channels? How would that make you feel? Or if you bought a car and had to pay every time you used the electric windows? This is an unfair and unjust fee and I want to see it stopped.

On top of this Sky+ keep upgrading the system, this should be a good thing, and on the whole it was, during one of the 1st upgrades my system saw was to enable two recordings at the same time and still be able to watch a previously recorded programme, brilliant. But then Sky decided in their wisdom that they would change the way the planner worked and this had significant effects on how the Sky+ box worked, it often crashed. If a programme was paused or rewound whilst another programme was being recorded the box would crash, meaning a reset was needed which meant you either stopped watching TV or interrupted a recording whilst you reset the machine.

A friend of mine wrote to Sky and complained about the problems he was having and said if it was not rectified he would be cancelling his subscription after 15 years of loyalty to Sky. Sky’s reply was basically, oh well, it was nice having you as a customer.

When I wrote to sky via a contact us link on the website they replied "We cannot deal with this matter any further as your customer account number has not been included". All I asked was when the system would be more stable and what other changes and problems I should expect!

It is apparent to me that there is no competition to sky, even if you opt to view your TV with Telewest or NTL you are still paying sky for their channels. The only difference is the customer service.

And now Sky are Launching their high definition (HD) channels. HD allows you to view TV at a much higher quality; this will come at an extra cost of £10 per month, unless you subscribe to two or more premium channels.

Whilst on the subject of HD on Sky. I was flicking through the channels after buying a HD ready TV and happened across a few channels offering HD viewing with a banner across the screen that read "For information on how to subscribe to this channel call Sky on 0870 XXXXXXX, now take into account that 0870 number are charged at national rate, it takes around 5 minutes to get through the switchboard at sky to speak to a human and then your lucky if they can deal with your request. I was told "We have no information about the HD channels; you will need to call back again when we have more information"
"When will you have more information?" I asked
"We have not been given that information?"
"Why does it tell me to call you at 0870 rates on the screen for more information about subscription?"
"I do not know, I’m sure the screen doesn’t say that"
"I can assure you it say, and I’m reading this of the screen new" I read the screen to her.
"I can’t help you with that"
"So, you have just charged me 10 minutes call on an 0870 number to tell me what I already knew?"
"I can’t help you any further, would you like to speak to a supervisor?"
"No thanks, I’m already paying for your ignorance"
I’m sure I have something on my file saying I’m an awkward customer.

I hope someone organises a walk out for sky customers, Id join it.

I understand that Sky has to make a profit, but the customers should not be fleeced!

Im sure I can think of other things but Im too wound up now and have to go and calm down.

Here I sit writing this blog, its lunch time and Im thinking I havent written anything for my blog in a while, so I better put something up just so I know I have kept my promise to myself. Nothing has happened of note recently and I dont want to look back at this blog in years to come and thin k to myself "Why didnt I do more?"

It was my birthday just the other day and I had a wonderful day. Jack (3) woke me up and I made him breakfast and myself a Coffee, we then sat and watched Childrens TV and played silly games until the rest of the family woke. It is unusal for me to be awake this early (about 7:30am) as I normally stay up at the weekends until a mad hour (3 - 4 am) but I crashed at about 11:30, the change of being up in the house before the 2 older children awoke gave me a little time to wake before the bickering started and the shouting and the sniping "Dad, Mel did this" or "Dom did that" it gets to a point where you could just walk out, now I know what my perants must have felt like as my brother and I never did get on that well growing up.

About 9:30 in the morning my wife and all 3 boys called me to the living room and presented me with a bag of presents, some of which were obviously rapped by the children, they reminded me of a Will Smith record, nice idea, porr;ly rapped!

Now, I told my wife what I wanted and I get a new XBOX controller and a Rechargable battery and cable, which I think will be worth its weight in cadmium! I alos received a book entitled "Puddings" which 98% of the contents are not suitable for my wife who is diabetic and wheat intolorant! So I do not understand that as she will moan if I make anything from the book! (she wont really, but she will make it known she is disappointed)

The rest of the day went well and some friends brought me a home made cake which contained the dark matter equivilant of sugar, the cake actually bent and threw the laws of physics all over the place. Just looking at the cake mad my teeth itch.

Oblivion on the xbox is excellent and I would recommend it to any RPG fan looking for an new challange! I will add some more about this soon. Im also looking forward to seeing Final fatasy XI as it is a MMORPG, and I like those.

Really, nothing has hqappened. I have an ongoing back problem which has kept me, pretty much, out of action over the last few weeks. I have played the odd HU match and am about evens to the beginning of last month.

The only other thing of real interest that has happened is the 360, which has, I am happy to say, has kept me away from the poker tables.

I know I have not been available to post any stories of my escapades at the poker tables of late, this is due to me be a good for nothing ragged bag of shite, a position useally held by thedefman (www.butitwassuited.blogspot.com).

Apart from taking all the drugs I can get my hands on (for my back) I have found it very difficult to focus an many things as I have become the lucky owner of an XBOX360.

I am a gamer, I have been for many years, since I was 12 (20+ years) and as long as I can remember I have played computer games. Elite, rainbow island, commando, goal, kick off, fifa etc, now its poker.

With the introduction of the 360 (hereafter known as my baby) I have another meaning in my life, I sit mentally playing Project Gotham 3, one of the most detailed racing games I have ever played. Call of duty 2 which just blows me away and Quake 4 which, to be honest, is not my cup of tea, Im going to trade it in at the weekend, probably for fight night 3!

Anyway, my baby has the abilty to link up with an XP or media centre PC for file sharing, but can I get it working? No, of course I cant, that would be to perfect! I spoke to XBOX techie support, who were great, apart from having to call 3 times to get to the same point each time untuil John. John helped a lot, although it did not improve the situation. John suggested I call Microsoft techie support as I might have an issue with windows. He gave me a reference number to pass onto them sop I wouldnt have to go through all the same run around again.

"Hello, Microsft tecghnical support. how can I help you", the voice at the end of the phone answered. The accent was not English.
"Hello, I have a problem connecting my XBOX 360 to my PC for file sharing, can you help me? I have spoken to XBOX technical support and they have given me a reference number, would you like it?" I asked
"Firstly, may I have your name?"
"Yeah, sure, its David"
"Good afternoon Mr. David, can I have the reference you were given please"
"Not a problem, 123, 456, 789"
"Im sorry Mr David, thisd number is not a valid Microsoft number, the number has to be preffixed with SRZ for it to be a valid reference number"
"Thats the only number they gave me"
"Mr David, you will need to call them back and ask for a SRZ reference number and then we can log your call and continue with your request"
"Cant you contact XBOX technical support and get the information for me?"
"Unfortunatley we do not have any outside lines, so we cannot do that for you Mr David"
"Okay, I'll call them back and get you the reference you need"
I call XBOX technical support back and speak with John again, who tells me that Microsoft Technical support has access to their databases and the number he gave me is the only reference he has to give me, there is nothing else he can do and suggests I call Microsoft technical support back and tell them to look harder, Which I do.
"Hello, Microsoft technical support, how may I help you?"
I explain everything
"This is not a valid reference, you need to contact xbox..."
"I have explained to you that I have already done this, there must be a way you can do this for me?"
"We do not have these reference numbersa, it must be a SRZ number"
"As you said before and I told you the guy at XBOX technical support said you can access his database, can you do that?"
"I will need to call my supervisor who will look into this for you, can I take your number?"
"Sure, how long will it take?"
"It should be within 24 hours"

I am still waiting, I will give them until tomorrow night and then I will call again!"

West Ham have made it the last 4 in the FA cup and what a joy it was to watch.

We sat down (Defman and I) with a huge bucket of fried chicken and chips and stuffed ourselves solid. Whilst watching this game I reflected on the last game we had playeed against city, in which we were beaten.

"This could be very painful" I said
"What, the game?" Defman asked
"No, I havent eaten this much in a long time"

I was very nervouse about the game and could not wait for the game to be over, the 1st half was a good game half and the goal at the end of the 1st half was fantastic.

After the break we played some stunning football, city had a red card, now reduced to 10 men we took control of the game and scored a 2nd goal when city decided not to put the ball out of play to allow a West Ham player the opportunity to be treated for an injury.

About 10 minutes from time Musampa scored a cracking goal for city, a volley from about 20 yards out. The last 15 minutes (inc. Injury time) were very stressful as city mounted attack after attack.

The draw for the next round of the FA cup will be on Friday, there is no one we are scared of!

At last a 1st place finish!

I have been plugging away at low limit STT for a while now and had reletive success. However I have just had a period of finishing 4th (just outside the money). Earlier this week I finished 9th, 8th and 6th, ehich at £1 buy in I really should be doing better.

I entered a £3+60p table last night, the first two rounds pass without a card worth playing, a few K highs and a suited connector was about it! I started to keep track of the cards I was receiving:
2, 3o, 6,7spades K,Qo (which I doubled up with when I hit 2 pair on the flop), 2,3o, 5,8o 3,9 diamonds, AA, took a player out here, T,J everyone at the table folded to my preflop bet, A, 2 clubes again all folded to my bet.

At this point I stopped recording the hands I was having because it really didnt back up the theory that I was receiving worse cards than normal.

I ended up winning the game with 8,9 suited in the BB, my oppo saw the BB, I flopped top pair,8s, and he checked, I checked, the turn was a 9, I checked, he went all in, I saw his all in and won!

YES, finally!

Slow playing aces? What would you do?

When I first stated to play poker I was introduced to slow playing, now this was explained as a way to trap people into betting against you thinking you didnt have a hand, on the whole this works.

However, when it goes wrong, it goes wrong!

This tactic is not limited to aces and can be transfered to AK, KK, QQ and a veriety of other hands.

I think the most imporatant time to do this is when you flop a set or 2 pair, you can really get a massive pay off if played this way.

I never slow play low PocketPairs such as 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, (<----I limp with those) 77, 88 anything higher can be slow played, 99, TT, JJ and I never slow play QQ, KK, AA as this often ends up with a bad beat.

My advice: Play these cards as you see fit, always try to get maximum reward with these cards, always slow playing will only work sometimes, as will raising or reraising with them. I always try to stop people getting drawing hands (flushes or straights). Would you know where you stood if the flop hit with 3 suited cards or J, Q, K ?

Try different varieties of seeing thingsw before the flop, try raising, checking, reraising (although I wouldnt reraise with 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, thats just me.

I should have pretended to sleep!

I woke up at 5:45 this morning, my wife was getting ready for work. I didnt need to get up as I am off work with a stomach bug (I will not go into detail) and could have stayed in bed for a few more hours.

I went for a pee and then decided to go to the the kitchen for a drink, when my wife got to the kitchen she asked my to get one of the boys sports bags (backpack) for her to put some sports clothing in for a departmental game of basketball she was taking part in today. I went and had a look and couldnt see anything, no wonder considering what a state the room is in!

I said she would need to take a carrier bag, she suggested I empty the eldests backpack so she cold use his bag, as he has another much bigger bag that he could use himself, I said no thias was unfair and she should use the carrier bag.

Apparently the carrier bag would be to heavy for hewr as she would have to hold it in her hand? rather than over the shoulder. She then announced she would get herself a small sports bag for such occasiosns (which are every 6 months or so), like the one she already bought herself but cannot find.

It is probably me but when she left pissed off and spitting and almost snapping my head off, I still cant see what I did wrong apart from get out of bed to get a drink!

Any clue? Was it tghat I was there? Was it that I couldnt solve the problem for her?

I remember a line in White men cant jump where the female carachter says "Just cos I tell you Im thirsty doesnt mean I want you to get me a drink, I just want you to know I am thirsty" does this apply? I want you to know theres a problem without fixing it? Why tell me if you dont want me to fix it? Or was this one of those occasions where I was ment to fix it?

Im sure this whole situation is my fault and Ill either apologise for it later and it will be my fault because I dont know what I will be apologising for, or I will bite back and it will be my fault because I was not sensitive enough when she needed me to be understanding?

We will have to wait and see.

Variance?

I think I have just experienced my first session of down turn in variance. I have played AK and was beaten by 5,7o that hit 2 pair. I had QQ beaten by AA (I know this happens, but how often (Markelby, if your reading, let me know!)I had my pocket Aces beaten by trip 7s! and I have finished 4th in 3 STT and im not singing any more!

I think the upswing is going, erm, up! I finished 2nd in a £1+20p STT today on Will Hill and the HU was very frustrating, I was massive chip leader ywice with 2:1 and I got delt an Ace high hand, I go all in get called with a K high hand that pairs up on the flop, the I have a K high hand so I am all in again and I get called for the villain to show me an ace high hand that pairs up! GRRRR!

I thought I played well and am going to enter a MTT on will hill later and see if the MTT favours us poker academy members.

Also went to the doctors today as I have inflamed tendons in my right wrist, so you might notice a marked improvement in my typing, as I am slower and sometimes only one handes (cos of the pain you pervs!).

An Absolute Cracking Cheese Sauce!

Cheesy darKPlay sauce

Ingredients:

1 large onion finely chopped
1 tsp lazy garlic (1 - 2 cloves)
3oz butter/marg
3 tbs plain flour
1 pint milk
5 desert spoons of plain yogurt
mixed herbs
9oz of grated Extra Mature cheddar
1/2 tsp nutmeg
Salt and pepper for seasoning

Method:
Take the yogurt and add the mixed herbs and allow to stand.

Fry the onion with the garlic until caramelised.

Melt the butter in a large pan and add the flour and stir into a paiste.

Gradualy add the milk stirring all the time until you have a smooth and battery sauce.

Aadd the yogurt and mix into the sauce, then add the rest of the milk.

Add the Nutmeg and mix until the sauce starts to simmer.

Remove from the heat and add the cheese, stir the cheese until most of it has melted then return to the heat.

When the sauce has started to bubble add the salt and pepper to taste.

Remove from the heat and serve with freshly cooked pasta or heated vegetables.

A cracking few days!

Poker world has come to visit me this week as I have been off work sick and I have passed the time playing a few freeroles, the odd MTT and many STT. I have not won much, but not lost much either.

I have finished 1st in one STT, 2nd in two STT 3rd in 4 STT (one of them a Limit game)

I played an incredible hand ($ kings) and got paid for it, but only finished 72nd THE BIG BUCK $1 MTT on Paradise Poker winning $1.20

I also had a game where my stack was reduced to 400ish when I was beaten by quad 7s to my nutflush, is that a bad beat? I had flopped the nut flush and he had hit his quad 7s on the turn?

I fifnished 3rd in that game, anothe prize paid to me!

What a bad day!

I've been of work today, looking after my wife after she had an operation last week. While she was out cold on the sofa I decided to have ago at the $1 BigBuck tourney on Paradise Poker. Here are some of my thoughts!

The majority of players must be newbies, within the first hour half the feild was removed (including myself) I had been delt AKo and had bet heavily pre-flop and thought I had done enough ewhen I paired the King on the flop, again I bet heavy concerned that there were 3 clubs out. However I had not taken into consideration the fishyness of the opponenet who had seen my 600 preflop bet hold 9c, Jc, whats that all about?

Oh well, it was only $1!

I can sit another $1,000,000 freerole maybe tomorrow, WestHam on Tellie tonight, so Poker will take a back seat.
Time for dinner me thinks.

This was my 2nd entry to a PokerPlasm freerole Tourney, this time held at Titan Poker. The interface is OK to nuse with a few nice featues, one being that there is a marker on the scale that appears for you bets that indicates the current value of the pot, which is nicew.

The overall competition was excellent and the quality of play was surprisingly tough. There were some great characters at the table that helped the tournemant flow smoothly. Zonetrap and AliG were there throughout to keep the conversation going.

My only aim was to have a laugh and a joke, but once Im realised just how good the feild of players were I knew I had to adjust my aims for the night, Id made my 1st goal to get to the money, 15th place paid $2.50, so I amied for that. Once I had hit the bubble I changed my aim to hit the final tablr then I was pushing to finish in the top 5, which I just missed out on as I finished 6th, which I am very proud of as I was amongst some exceptional players.

I am looking forward to the next freerole and hope I can improve on my finishing position.

First let me take each part of you statement and answer the many questions it asks!

1 - Hugely homophobic - I cant see that what I have written is hugely homophobic, I can see it has some terms or phrases that might be considered offensive, but homophobic, no! I have not said in any way that to be homosexual is a bad or nasty thing in any form, you are confusing name calling with hatred. I have the ability to be able to reflect on a subject with an angle of humour whilst still remembering the seriousness of the subject at hand whilst I appreciate not everybody can do this, ,it is not for me to decide who can and cant seperate fact from fiction. Id also like to point out that star wars was not based on a realife story and aliens was all created on a film set and did not actually happen!.Sorry to be patronising, it would appear some people need it!

I do not dislike homosexuals! What I actually said is HA HA its only a joke and Im not a homphobic, which is very different. I just dont think you have the same warped and twisted sense of humour I do and that is also fine.

Your post reflected on the similarity between the dislike of country music and homosexuals, where in fact there are none at all and your staement was flawed and inacurate, although I did not take offense Im sure many homosexuals would, being compaired to country music, especially as its famouse for all the rednecks and hill billies.

Im not even sure if you read everything I said, surely a person can have one view and write from another differing view, say Steven King for example, do we all think he is a mass murderer? I dont!

This comment was in response to a thread at www.thepokeracademy.co.uk where another PA member said disliking Country music was akin to disliking homosexuals and not understanding was down to repression of our true feelings!

This was my response, but to better judhement I decdided not to post it there and post it here instead.

I am not a homosexual but do not have any ill feeling towards anyone for being homosexual, I would not impose my lifestyle onto anyone else and would not expect it to happen the other way around!

I dislike Country and weston equally and just cant get my head around it. My boss plays Johnny Cash and a few others I cant be arsed to remember and it always seems to make the clock go slower than it should.

However there are some cracking songs from that genre, as always the cream flots to the top, so I cant say I hate everything, just the majority.
In you analogy of hating Country is like hating Bum Bandits (no offense intended)Would you say the same for Death metle = Satan worshipers or in the Case of DnB = Drug taking pill heads (Stay with me people, I know its not a concrete argument (Im assuming a lot here, but I think one Metlehead can tell another!)).

What about 80s pop, Bronski beat and othe shirt lifting artists like boy George and pet shop boys, does this make me anti fudge nudger if I dont enjoy?

I dont think so! I dont mind being proved wrong here, although it would explain my wifes enjoyment of Marc Almond, heavy boots, braces and peicings oh, and trying to convince me that we should introduce another woman into our bedroom antics I wouldnt mind, but this woman is a munter! (sorry to all ugly lesbiens who cant get boyfriends).

A limit game for me!

In the past I have found limit games as dull as watching paint dry. But lat night it all got a bit exciting.

I was playing on paradise poker and entered a $5+$1 game (that an extortionate rake if ever I saw one! 20%), anyhow, I found myself with $8 in the account and thought, Ill ever win millions or lose $8 and those are the odds I like.

The main lobby screen at paradise poker is very crowded and confusing, even after I had ordered the games into price entry I still managed to avoid all the omaha and hi/low but missed the limit game I ended up playing in. However on the plus side, I have never finished outside the money in a limit game, although the tactics are different, I still manage to get there.

The thing I find particulaly difficult with no limit is at the early stages you do get a lot of lunatics calling nearly every hand they have down to the river, when in a NL game you can push people off of pots with large raises or allins.

Once the blinds had reached 200/400 or 300/600 the game started to play like a proper game and I found this suited me a lot better, I finished in 2nd place after the chip leader took me down to 200 chips and I worked my way back up to massive chip leader and then the table s turned and he managed to keep ahaed and beat me with pocket 3s to my J high hand. I finished 2nd, which I thought was good cinsidering I sat down to the game accidently.

I think I will give limit another go tonight!

There has been a bit of a rebellion over at www.thepokeracademy.co.uk (PA) just recently and it effected me in quite an unuseal way, it made me reflect upon everything I say and do on that particular forum.

A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY

When I first started to visit PA I found it a jovial place to visit for a light hearted but educational way of reassesing my game (which was rubbish). I consider myself to have an excellent sense of humour, but it would appear that not everyone appreciated it in the volumes in which I applied it.

Everything came to a head when one member (Satan1974) decided he would air his objections in quite an aggresive and offensive way. Now, Im not one to back down from an argument, and apart from one comment I made, I cant see what could possibly have offended what appeared to be a highly intelligent and articulate person such as Satan (whos post I found very informative and whos humour quite often had me giggling). I only defended my corner. It was very apparant that he was in the majority and Satan1974 decided he could no longer frequent the PA and prticipate with the rest of us, which I thought was very sad, but at the end of the day I really couldnt give a stuff. It is his choice and not one I or anyone else impossed on him.

His argument was that 'people' posted to many jokes that could have detracted from the main body of the post leading new comers to the forum and game to think that what we were joking about was actually the truth and the way things should be!

It is for this type of person that McDonalds cups have a cation on their coffee cups reading "Contains hot liquid"

And cans of peanuts have "Contains nuts" written on the side

"Mind your head" is another one and on a box of matches "Strike away from face" is needed for these people. We do not want these people at the PA. The sort of person who is going to be our money at the tables, we do not want them educated we want them pushing all in with J7 suited against our pocket 8s!

This does in no way reflect anyone elses opinion especially that of PA or PA members.

And in answer to the title of this post, if you dont know, its probably you!

I signed up to play in BETFREDS $50 freerole to practice my super agressive style, you know, seeing lots of flops and generally making a nuisance of myself. The game had been running 20 minutes before I had started playing and had clearly established a tight table image, which for you fishy lot means I only play good cards so you should fold to my bets!

I was delt AK on the button blinds are 20/40 and a player in mid position bets 60, I raise him to 120 he sees my bet. The flop is T, 8, 4, he goes all in, I think this is an easy one so I call him, he shows a T, 6o , the turn is another T and Im all out. Who pushes with T, 6o? Oh, super agressive players do!

Oh well, back to the drawing board!

Flopping a full house!

I was playing in a POKER ROOM CENTURION game (100 seater, 1st prize $150 for a $5 buy in.

I was in the BB and found myself holding Jc, Ac and thought I would just check this through with the player on the button calling the BB (at 15/30) The flop came down As, Td, Th and I made a small bet, which was called and the turn card came down Jd, now I am all in I dont want this turkey catching a flush unless he pays. He sees my all in and shows A, To and I Hit the fucking roof, I know its not a bad beat, I was just unlucky, maybe I should have slowed down a little on the turn, but Im sure I played it right!

Well, lets see if I play it the same next time!

Multi Table Success, at last!

After spending untold hours playing MTT ansd STT I have found myself winning a 10 seater and a 40 seater tourney in 2 days, winning $50 in each, this is excellent as it is about time I started to get into the top placings on MTT's.

I will continue to play at this level as it is apparent that it suits me, for the time being.

I hope I can keep it up, however I do in the future I can honestly say that the advice and help I recieved from the members at The Poker Academy was priceless and I do not think I would have even finished in the money without their support and help. Thank you all!

I now need to go shopping with my better half, so I will sign off for now.
